Beyond Attitude Consulting acknowledges we operate in Mi’kma’ki – the unceded territory and ancestral homeland of the Mi’kmaq First Nation. Our relationship is based on a series of Peace and Friendship treaties between the Mi’kmaq First Nation and the Crown, dating from 1725 to 1779. In 1999 the Supreme Court of Canada, in R v Marshall, upheld the 1752 treaty “which promised Indigenous Peoples the right to hunt and fish their lands and establish trade.”
We also acknowledge that we work and play in many unceded territories and ancestral homelands of Indigenous Peoples across North America, and respect the rights and traditions of the many First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples therein.
We are all Treaty People.
Sustainability Exchange: Workshop and CBSM training
On November 9 the Town of Huntsville and Lura Consulting are holding a unique workshop called The Sustainability Solutions Exchange: Making the Leap from Planning to Implementation. The workshop will be of particular interest to municipal practitioners involved in implementing sustainability and climate change actions plans. The event includes a mix of interesting speakers
As a prelude to the workshop, I will be holding a special CBSM training session the day before, on November 8th. In this customized training session, attendees will learn how to build the implementation of action plans around a core of CBSM techniques and strategies and a social media approach to social diffusion.
You can find out more information and register for either day or both at the event webpage (http://sustainabilityexchange2012 NULL.wordpress NULL.com/).
