I have had several requests for the report Lura Consulting (http://www NULL.lura NULL.ca) wrote for the Community-based Social Marketing (http://cbsm NULL.com) backyard composting project we did with the Township of Langley (http://www NULL.tol NULL.ca). In order to make it more readily accessible, I am posting it here (http://www NULL.beyondattitude NULL.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/LangleyBYC_CBSM_FinalReport NULL.pdf). The report will be useful for municipal waste management planners, NGO’s, and people interested in Community-based Social Marketing.
Although it is important to measure results of Community-based Social Marketing campaigns, the reality is that organizations do not always have the required funding to measure and evaluate results, leaving effectiveness of the campaign to be rather subjective. Fortunately, the funding for the Township of Langley BYC CBSM project, provided by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (http://fcm NULL.ca), included support for evaluation. Accordingly, there is extensive measurement and evaluation for the pilot project, and projections for community-wide roll-outs included in the report.
