Reminder to visitors to stay on a path
To foster sustainable behaviour, we sometimes use the simplest, but very effective, tools. For instance prompts, like the sign that tells the last person to leave a room to turn out the lights, or this sign telling visitors near Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, to keep off of an environmentally sensitive area.

My favourite prompt? When I was visiting a friend’s house recently I excused myself and went to the washroom. When I lifted the toilet seat I found a prompt his wife had affixed to the underside of the seat. It read “Please put the seat down.”

I bet there are a few women out there who want a sign like that for their bathrooms!
